NCC ocean sailing expedition returns

Naval cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) participating in an ocean sailing expedition reportedly started their return journey at Ayikkara here on Monday.As many as 30 naval cadets of the 9 NCC Kerala Naval Unit under the Kozhikode NCC Group Headquarters are participating in the adventurous sailing programme. The participants are from six colleges in the region. The return journey was flagged off by NCC Lakshadweep – Kerala Director General Brigadier T.K. Murali here in the morning.
The expedition started from Kozhikode on April 2 and reached here on April 5 after visiting Koyilandy, Kottakkal and Chombal. The young sailors will complete their adventure journey on April 11 at Puthiyappa in Kozhikode, according to the NCC officials.Commanding Officer of the 9 Kerala Naval Unit P.K. Sudhakaran is supervising the expedition. NCC officials A.R. Nisthar and P.P. Dineshan are accompanying the team. Eight Naval Petty Officers are training the participants in seafaring.
