Passenger vessel to be ready next month

Lakshadweep passenger vessel `MV Tipu Sultan’ which is undergoing dry docking repairs at the Cochin Shipyard will reportedly be ready for service by the second week of May, said Lakshadweep Administrator B V Selvaraj. "The Cochin Ship Yard has assured the Lakshadweep administration that the repair work would be completed on priority basis and release the vessel by May 15", the administrator said in a press release here on Wednesday.
A five-member delegation consisting of A Jalaluddeen Koya, president-cum-chief counsellor, district panchayat; Achada Ahamed Haji, chairperson, village panchayat, Kavarati; Shaikoya, chairperson village panchayat, Kalpeni; A Kunhikoya, district panchayat member and A Hamza, director, Ports, had visited the Cochin Ship Yard last week to review the repair work of the vessel.
